Travel Playlist #2

In my first post of my road trip playlist, I’ll be recommending music I listen to for long, boring road trips that need some life!

1. Matthew Koma – Suitcase

I cannot stress how many times I’ve listened to this song as I open the windows and look out to see the never ending stream of mountains and the warm sun setting. With it’s piano-based melody, this song has such a ‘travel feel and vibe’ to it and makes my experience much more unforgettable. Matthew’s deep and emotional lyrics speaks about his personal break up story and how he remembers past relationships as he steps into a new one.

‘I’m packing every memory that we made in a suitcase’ – Matthew Koma

2. Rixton – Hotel Ceiling

I’ve loved this song for the longest time, and for some reason, haven’t been sick of it. With it’s stimulating beat, I find this song best listened to especially when you are on the road with big company like your friends or families. Although the meaning of this song is quite depressing and shocking, talking about losing a loved one and not being able to handle it sensibly, by consuming a lot of alcohol and not letting go of sweet memories.

‘So I’ll never let you go, don’t you leave me lonely now’ – Rixton

3. Kodaline – Love Like This

So far, the artist’s way of handling the situation they talk about in this songs, lean towards the pessimistic side. However, what I love about this one in particular is how the artist have changed how we all view the song’s situation by talking about the bright side and giving it a cheery and joyful melody that can instantly brighten up your mood. It talks about loving the present feeling of youthful love, even though they know that it will not last and eventually end eventually in the future. I have recently found out about this song, and it gives me the vibe needed to fully feel like I’m in a holiday and there’s nothing I should worry about in that exact moment.

‘I know that a love like this won’t last forever
But I, I don’t really mind, I don’t really mind at all’ – Kodaline
